Ronald Murray Hedberg (10/12/1934 Santa Clara, Califórnia – 24/09/2008 Woodgridge, Connecticut) foi um geólogo e autor americano, conhecido pelas suas contribuições para a geologia regional e estratigrafia, particularmente no sul de África. A sua obra de maior destaque, intitulada Stratigraphy of the Ovamboland Basin, South West Africa (1979), é uma referência fundamental para o estudo das bacias sedimentares daquela região. Além do seu trabalho académico e de investigação, Hedberg atuou profissionalmente como geólogo consultor em projetos de engenharia civil e segurança pública, colaborando, por exemplo, na avaliação de riscos em zonas de minas abandonadas para o desenvolvimento de áreas residenciais

Technical monograph and detailed study of the stratigraphy of the Ovamboland Basin, an important sedimentary basin stretching from southern Angola to northern Namibia, situated on the Congo Craton in southern Africa. It documents, with academic rigour, the sedimentary succession of the basin and its main stratigraphic units; the regional tectono-stratigraphic relationships and geological interpretations of the evolution of the sedimentary cover; and a detailed description of the rock formations from the Palaeo-Proterozoic to the Neoproterozoic.

Ronald Murray Hedberg (10 December 1934, Santa Clara, California – 24 September 2008, Woodgridge, Connecticut) was an American geologist and author, known for his contributions to regional geology and stratigraphy, particularly in southern Africa. His most notable work, entitled Stratigraphy of the Ovamboland Basin, South West Africa (1979), is a fundamental reference for the study of the sedimentary basins in that region. In addition to his academic and research work, Hedberg worked professionally as a consulting geologist on civil engineering and public safety projects, collaborating, for example, on risk assessments in areas of abandoned mines for the development of residential areas
